Hand-painted finishes and bead-like decorations embody Shelly's work. She applies the age-old tradition of coiling and pinching her vessels and bowls as is used in ancient cultures. The colour and texture of the clay, the hand painted finishes, bead like decorations and aluminium insets embody the artistic expression she has created which were influenced by these early cultures. The materials, shapes and decorations of her work depict her interests, inspirations and subliminal influences.

Shelley loves to create with clay, using all the elements of nature that ceramics emcompass. The ability of being able to use her hands every day to create continually inspires and amazes her.
